Banners

Create, publish, and pin single-frame Convert banners on channels and in experiments.

What is a banner?

A banner is a single-frame, inline Convert surface: one root screen, optional fixed or responsive sizing in the manifest, versioned like a flow, and assigned to a channel with banner assignment. It is not a multi-screen flow.

End users see a banner when:

  1. You publish a banner version, and
  2. A channel pins that version, or serves a banner experiment that includes it.

The React Native and web SDKs render resolve responses with kind: "banner" via RheoBanner. SwiftUI and Flutter banner install stories are coming soon — see SDK overview.

Lifecycle

  1. Create — From Convert → Banners, create a banner and open the banner canvas.
  2. Draft — Edit the single root screen (layers, copy, sizing). The editor autosaves.
  3. Publish — Publishing creates an immutable version that channels and experiments can pin. Drafts never affect live users.
  4. Pin — On Channels, choose Change and pin a published banner version (or attach a banner experiment).
  5. Duplicate / archive — Copy to iterate safely; archive when a campaign ends.

Fixed vs responsive

ModeBehavior
Fixed-sizeManifest declares width and height; the host should reserve that space
ResponsiveFollows the host width and hugs content height

Sizing is part of the published manifest. Match how you embed RheoBanner in the host UI.

Channels and experiments

  • A banner pin on a channel serves one published banner version.
  • A banner experiment serves one published banner version per variant (or a holdout control that resolves with control: true and renders nothing while still logging experiment_exposed).
  • Attach the running experiment on the channel when it should serve. See Experiments and Channels & rollout.

Rheo Agent

On Grow+, Rheo Agent can help edit the banner canvas with natural language — same entitlement as the flow editor. See AI features.
