Templates

Reusable email, webhook, and push starters for Engage broadcasts and automations.

What templates are for

Templates are reusable message starters under Engage → Templates. Each template has one channel type:

TypeWhat you author
EmailSubject and body in the same visual / HTML composer as broadcasts
WebhookEndpoint, headers, and JSON payload (merge tags supported)
PushTitle, body, optional link and data JSON

Templates are not live-linked. When you choose Use template (or From template on an automation email step), Rheo copies the content into that broadcast or automation. Edits afterward do not change the library template, and edits to the template do not update messages that already copied it.

Templates are different from content blocks. Content blocks are reusable email fragments you insert inside a composer. Templates are full message starters for email, webhook, or push.

Create and manage

  1. Open Engage → Templates.
  2. Choose New template (requires Engage manage permission).
  3. Enter a Name and pick Type — Email, Webhook, or Push.
  4. Choose Create template and finish the content in the editor.
  5. Save.

On the list you can search by name and filter by type. Row actions (when your role allows):

ActionEffect
OpenDetail page with preview, summary, and which broadcasts / automations already used this template
EditOpen the channel editor
DuplicateCreate a copy and open its editor
ArchiveRemove the template from the library. Broadcasts and automations that already copied it keep their own content

Use in broadcasts and automations

ContextHow to apply
Broadcast email / webhook / push messageUse template… (or Use a template on push) → pick a same-channel template → Apply template / Use template
Automation email stepWhen adding an email node, choose From template (or blank)
Automation webhook or push stepUse template… in the step inspector

Picker copy reminds you that edits in the message do not change the library template.

Rheo Agent

On Grow+, open Rheo Agent in the email and push template editors to draft or revise content while you stay in the composer. Same AI entitlement as other AI features. Webhook templates do not use Rheo Agent.

Permissions

  • engage:read — view the Templates list and detail
  • engage:manage — create, edit, duplicate, and archive

Viewers can browse templates. Editors and above can manage the library. Sending a broadcast that used a template still follows Engage send rules (owners and admins).
